Upon arriving in Bacalar, you will board a comfortable pontoon boat where your 2-hour tour of the lagoon begins, visiting 3 cenotes, Bird Island, and the famous "Pirate Channel" to explore the lagoon's stunning blue waters. While sailing the lagoon, your local guide will share the local history and fascinating stories about the lagoon, including numerous pirate legends.

Your first stop will be Cenote la Bruja, a beautiful cenote with crystal-clear water and stunning underwater formations. Next, you'll head to Pirate's Channel, a narrow stretch of water that is said to have been used by pirates in the past. Hear stories of pirate battles and buried treasure as you cruise through this fascinating waterway.After a stop for swimming, you'll head to your second cenote, Cenote Cocalitos. This cenote is known for its white sand bottom and turquoise waters.

You can eat and drink both in the vehicles and on the boat. Your driver will stop anywhere you want to purchase your supplies. The boat trip may be shortened a bit if your boat leaves early.

Departures available from Thursday to Tuesday, with limited availability. On Wednesdays, the lagoon is closed and no work is carried out.

Tour departure point

Please head directly to our meeting point when you are allowed to disembark. Our meeting point will be just outside the Costa Maya port complex. Guests can safely walk from the main avenue to find us just outside the port area. We will be waiting for you with a sign with your name on it.

Payment information

A minimum deposit of $10.00USD per person is required to confirm spaces for this tour.

Deposits are fully refundable if for any reason your cruise does not dock at the Costa Maya port, or if the weather does not permit the tour.

The remaining balance can be paid online 7 days before the tour or in cash upon arrival with us.

Cancellation policy

3 days before the tour to avoid a cancellation fee of $10.00USD per person.

This tour is suitable for people with a basic level of fitness and health. Participants must be comfortable with outdoors.Swimming in the lagoon is optional.

This tour is NOT available on Wednesdays.To ensure you have ample time to fully experience the wonders of Bacalar Lagoon, please confirm that your ship's schedule allows for a minimum port stay of 7 hours.
